Artist-in-Residence Fall 2015

In 2015 I had the privilege of being the Artist-in-Residence at Bandelier National Monument from September 14 - October 10.
The focus of my residency was journaling through writing, photography, sketching, and painting.

The experience is documented in my book: Time at Bandelier: A Month in Frijoles Canyon.

Main Loop Trail

This is the main trail that leads to the cliff dwellings, known as "cavates."

Mule deer fawn

Most evenings when I walked the main loop trail, a family of mule deer would be there foraging in the ruins.

CCC cabins

I stayed in cabins built of local stone by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.
